Our genuine zebras are sourced from the best, most responsible source in the world. We offer only Burchells zebra, basically the ONLY species of zebra that is not endangered or protected.
Keleen Leathers does not and will never sell anything killed only for the purpose of selling its skin.
Our zebras are obtained through a government run organization in South Africa. The Burchell’s zebra is culled at certain times of the year to maintain the delicate balance of the ecosystem. If they were not culled, this species would overpopulate and damage the environment for other plants and animals, similar to the control of the deer population in North America. The herd populations must remain healthy, and this varies according to the size of each game reserve throughout the region. All Keleen Leathers zebra hides are imported legally and inspected by U.S. Customs and U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Our zebras have an average measurement roughly 6’x9’. Color will range from a very dark brown stripe (“black”) to soft, chocolate brown elegantly unique in stripe style.
